myTESOL requires that your English language teaching certification is:
1)  Accredited by an independent and reputable third party.
2) Your EAL certificate had a minimum of 120-hour core hours.
3) Your EAL certificate had a live coaching / mentoring component to it.
4) Your EAL certificate can be authenticated by the issuing certification body.

In order to become a myTESOL global EAL teacher trainer, you must have 3 years of EAL teaching experience with an officially registered company.  Part of the verification process will be to provide supervisor and student / parent feedback.  Generally speaking, independent teaching (online or private lessons) will not meet this requirement unless you are teaching under your own officially registered company.  In that case, independent experience will be accepted.

You get paid on a per hour basis.  Payment is made monthly directly into your personal or business bank account.

Hourly coaching rates range from $35 - $45 USD. Coaching hours will range from 10 - 20 hours per student depending on the myTESOL course your students sign up for.  Your specific rate will be determined by your experience.

No. We are looking for entrepreneurial teacher trainers.  There is not minimum and there is no cap.  The more you train, the more you earn. You are an independent contractor; you work when you want to work.  You are in control of your time and schedule.  Even your coaching session schedules are set directly between you and your students.

Yes.  However, depending on your country of origin, the business structure may vary.  You can have a personal business running under your name, a simple sole proprietorship, or an LLC.  Your business can start simple and small and grow as your training business grows.  myTESOL provides free coaching and support to help your business grow.

myTESOL provides:
1) Free onboarding and training.
2) Access to our LMS so you can see your students core program work and prepare for you coaching sessions with them.
3) Courses updates and maintaining accreditation. 

No.  myTESOL students go through the core course content online.  When you are paired with a student as their coach, you get access to their online work.  This helps you see how they are doing.  Every unit has an ending reflection question where students are asked to write down their top three questions for their coach (that's you!).  This is the main section of the student's online work that you will check in order to prepare for you coaching sessions with your student.  This ensures your coaching sessions are relevant and meaningful to each student.  While you don't need to teach the core course content, you do need to have an understanding of the myTESOL curriculum.  The first 3 or 4 students you train will help embed this.  After that, you will have a solid grasp of the myTESOL course.  

Yes.  As part of your onboarding, you will be trained in how to structure each 1-hour coaching session.  The structure is designed to give consistency of experience for each myTESOL student while at the same leaving room for the personalization mentioned previously.  This is so important.  Individualized and personalized coaching is what myTESOL offers to set us apart from other EAL certification programs.

All core course coaching (1 hour per unit) can be done either in person or online.  That is your choice.

We prefer to have live teaching observation when possible.  As part of your interview, you will be asked if you access to authentic students for this purpose.  If not, the second option is for your student to upload recording of them teaching for you to review and to provide feedback.  

No!  The lessons your teacher in training delivers as practice lessons should never be charged to the students taking the class.  You are already paid through the training fee.  The teacher in training should not be paid.  The student may or may not get a quality lesson.  Offering free English lessons is a great way to:
1) Bring the pressure down for the teacher in training.
2) Bring the expectations down for the students attending the "free" class.
3) Get students to come in and meet you who may not otherwise do so.  This gives you a chance to introduce yourself and potentially find new English students.

myTESOL manages the certificate database.  We issue certificates directly to the students upon verification of the coaching and observation sessions.  You verify this through our LMS.
